We won 9-2 in what could have easily been 11-0 or 6-5. There were some close games that we won and 2 close games we lost.
I was not on at the start of the match despite leading off with a win where I doulbed out on my first try and also doubled us in (second try). In the team DIDO Ryan told me I wasn't "in the game." I realized I was just playing darts and not focusing. So I went into total concentration mode... like when I play poker. I got quiet and probably wasn't the most fun dart team member. I got a bit grumpy and tried to tune everything out. This one guy kept standing just to my left right in the edge of my periferal vision. It was really making me mad. If the guy wasn't such a nice guy I might have lost my tempor.
Notes on the Y's Guy's<
Their bar stinks! Not enough room around the board or places for observers to stand. They were out of draft beer or the C02 was out... BUT that being said the Y's Guy's were the best hosts we have had. Good sportmanship. There was some playfull banter but nothing "sharking" or rude in the least bit. I really enjoyed them and despite their cruddy bar I look forward to playing them again.
Back to the match... I don't remember much because I was trying to get focused. I remember what I did... I Doubled out my doubles 01 game... I doubled us out in our DIDO game... I missed in our team FIDO game... I Doulbe bulled us out in my cricket game... I double bulled my team out in our (home team choice) cricket game. BTW Ryan took out the team crikcet bulls hitting 3 I remember that! I hit so/so darts in killer but nailed a couple big ones to take out the guy behind me. So I hit a bunch of big darts when we needed them but threw mediocre without pressure.
Steve Rocks the house!!!!
Steve threw the best darts I have ever seen him throw. He it trip 19 at least 3 times, hit a trip 16, a trip 18, and several trip 20's. Better yet he thew 3 fat 17's on one turn in cricket (after league). If we had a most improved player award it would go to Steve.
Ryan... what can you say... Ryan was Ryan... a few moments of garbage... a bunch of 2 dart turns... and more 3 dart plus turns than garbage turns. He was not only the captian but the anchor of the team!
Jason & Keith. Can we say consistent! These guys make Ryan's job as captain easy. They pretty much throw the same all the time. Not many hot or more importantly... no cold streaks. There consistently good play with the addition of Steve
STEPPING UP BIG turned our past 6-5 wins into a 9-2!
Final throughts
I would be interested in who the other team thought was our best guy. The way Ryan structured our lineup, it makes it look like I am our Anchor. I threw some big shots so they probably bit on the psychological idea that I AM our teams best player. Despite my flashy shots... Ryan thew better more consistently. We are really coming together as a team. We are finding out who throws better together as a team. BTW the Sobo's Rock... ;-)
